New Beginning: A Relationship with God
People were created by God to have a relationship with Him. Every person was designed by God with a special plan and purpose in mind for their life. Your special plan and purpose can only be fulfilled when you have a relationship with God. Success in life is defined by fulfilling your God-given purpose. You can begin your relationship with God by:
How to Become a Christian To become a Christian you must first realize that you are spiritually "lost" - totally estranged from God, separated from God by a sinful nature. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." A person alone cannot reconcile the lost relationship between himself or herself and God. To provide a remedy, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to live the perfect life God demands and to die on the cross to forgive our sins." Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross bridged that gap. Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." All that God asks you to do is that you repent of your sins, turn from them, and accept the sacrifice Christ made on the cross for your sins. You can do this through a prayer. Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Pray this prayer:Heavenly Father, I come to You just as I am in the Name of Jesus. I confess that I have sinned against You and others. I ask You to forgive me and wash me clean with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, your Son. I believe that Jesus died for me.
God promises in the Bible that anyone who accepts Christ as Savior shall be saved. He took my sin upon Himself and died on the cross for me. And I believe in my heart that He was raised from the dead. I pray and invite Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10 and help me daily to learn how I am to live. I do that now by the confession of my mouth. In Jesus name. Amen! Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Once you invited Jesus into your heart as Savior and the Lord, you need to follow Him in baptism and join the fellowship of a local church. This is important for living a successful Christian life. |
